About Tara Becher, PA-C

Physician Assistant, Certified (PA-C)

Tara Becher, PA-C, is highly experienced in treating acne, psoriasis, skin cancer, and a variety of other skin concerns. She loves letting her patients know she’s in their corner, hears their concerns, and is ready to help them tackle whatever skin issues they face.

Originally from Wisconsin, Tara graduated from St. Norbert College with her BA in Secondary Education and Spanish in 2004. She then completed her physician assistant studies at A.T. Still University through her Master of Health Science degree. After she graduated in 2013, Tara began working at a family practice until 2018. In 2018, she began working in dermatology and has been there ever since.

Education & Training

A personal family history of skin cancer and other skin concerns drew Tara to study dermatology. Additionally, when working at the family practice, she had a colleague introduce her to new aspects of dermatology, further sparking her interest in the specialty.

Tara began performing surgical procedures when she started working at Skin and Cancer Center of Scottsdale. She has found removing cancer to be an incredibly rewarding procedure. She loves helping patients improve their health and become cancer-free.

She also enjoys working with acne, particularly with teenage patients. Tara understands how the prominence of social media today creates unrealistic beauty standards, especially for teens and kids. When working with acne patients, Tara enjoys taking baseline photos, as these pictures help track the patient’s skin progress. Tara loves helping her patients clear up their skin and regain confidence in their appearance.

Building relationships with patients is something Tara highly values in her line of work. She views trust as a key component for making patients feel comfortable with her throughout the treatment process. Tara enjoys seeing her relationships with patients develop over time as they go through treatment and their skin conditions greatly improve.

In her free time, Tara enjoys hiking, cooking, and traveling. Whether she’s at home or on a new traveling adventure, she loves spending time with her family.
